The introduction of DDR5 memory is bringing in a huge increase in performance for every server or workstation using this technology. DDR5-Serverspeicher von Micron verfügt über im Modul integrierte Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs). - DDR5 wurde dazu konzipiert, bei speicherintensiven Workloads die doppelte Bandbreite von DDR4 zu liefern. Dies ist ein Ergebnis der doppelten Burst-Länge, der doppelten Anzahl von Bänken und Bankgruppen und einer deutlich höheren Geschwindigkeit (6400 MT/s vs. 3200 MT/s) entsprechend den Vorgaben des JEDEC-Komitees, einer unabhängigen Organisation, die offene Standards für die Mikroelektronikindustrie entwickelt.
- Mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 6400 MT/s überträgt DDR5 doppelt (100 %) so viele Daten wie DDR4 mit seiner maximalen Standarddatenrate von 3200 MT/s. Die vom JEDEC-Komitee prognostizierte Geschwindigkeit von 8800 MT/s ist 2,75-mal höher als die maximale Standardgeschwindigkeit von DDR4, die nur 3200 MT/s beträgt.
