What is tubifex?
Tubifex are small, reddish bristle worms that live in mud and streams. They are:
Very high in protein
Natural food for many freshwater fish
Freeze-dried to eliminate pathogens and increase shelf life
Advantages of Tubi Cubi:
High nutritional value, especially protein
Can promote growth and muscle building
Easy to dose – the cubes can be pressed firmly onto the aquarium glass
Can stimulate hunting instinct and natural feeding behaviour
Good as reward or fattening feed
Suitable for:
Cichlids (e.g. Discus, Apistogramma)
Bettas and fighting fish
Tetra and barber
Young fish in growth phase
Turtles (as a supplement)
Application:
Give as a supplement 1–3 times a week
Avoid overfeeding – tubifex is very nutritious
Press the cube firmly on the aquarium glass to see the fish actively feeding
Important:
Should not be sole feed
Not suitable for fish that need a lot of plant material
Freeze-drying removes parasites – safer than live tubifex
