The BinTec Power over LAN (PoLAN) system connects power to all components of the XAir Access Points over the Ethernet cable. This substantially cuts installation costs and improves security. Clear LED indicators are used for monitoring operation and faults are detected automatically.The XAir PoLAN injector is inserted as an adapter at a central point in the network cabling, e.g. in a network cabinet. This feeds power to the Cat 5 Ethernet cable for the XAir Access Points using the 4 spare wires in the Ether net cable. The XAir PoLAN injector can also be connected directly to the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to permanently provide the XAir Access Points with power.
