Should your work with wool yarn retain its shape and size? Then wash by hand and add some wool soap. Then let it dry horizontally, but remember to stretch it into shape first. For example, if you want to felt your knitted slippers, wash them with wool soap in water warmer than 40–50 degrees. Then rub the surface and felt the wool together (called fulling). You can also wash the item in a machine, where they will felt and shrink slightly.
