Freewell Lens Hood for Fuji XF 23mm F2.8 combines a protective lens hood with a magnetic filter system for fast filter changes. It reduces unwanted light flares while protecting the lens from dust, scratches, and impact. The integrated magnetic mount supports UV, PL, and Glow Mist 1/4 filters for flexible control over clarity, reflections, and cinematic diffusion. CNC-machined aluminum ensures durability with low weight. Includes hood, three filters, case, Allen key, and cleaning cloth.
The lens hood itself reduces unwanted stray light and flare, improving contrast and overall image clarity while simultaneously protecting the front lens element from dust, scratches, and accidental impacts. This makes it suitable for both everyday shooting and more demanding outdoor environments.
A key feature is the integrated magnetic filter mounting system, which enables fast and tool-free switching between compatible filters. The system supports three included filters: UV, CPL (polarizing), and Glow Mist 1/4. The UV filter provides basic lens protection and helps reduce UV-induced haze for clearer outdoor images. The CPL filter reduces reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass while enhancing color saturation and contrast. The Glow Mist 1/4 filter introduces a controlled diffusion effect that softens highlights and reduces harsh contrast, producing a more cinematic and atmospheric look.
The hood is constructed from CNC-machined aluminum, offering a balance of durability and lightweight handling. This ensures long-term resistance to wear while maintaining portability and ease of use during extended shooting sessions.
Installation is designed to be straightforward and secure. The hood mounts via a threaded mechanism and can be fine-adjusted using the included Allen key to ensure proper alignment. Once installed, the magnetic system allows rapid attachment and removal of filters without interrupting workflow, which is particularly useful in changing lighting conditions.
The system is designed to streamline field usage by minimizing setup time while maximizing creative flexibility through quick filter changes.
